Four Colour Print with Prusa i3 Mk3S

I’ve been dying to try a sophisticated colour print on my Prusa i3 Mk3 and with the release of PrusaSlicer v2.2, I had the perfect excuse.

All tuned up. I've been keen to try a four colour print of the workshop logo for ages and now my #prusa i3 Mk3 has been upgraded to the Mk3S I'm getting amazing results and this is the result. The effect is created by taking elements of the design an pulling them to specific heights and then within the slicer changing filaments at those heights. To give the details, black filament is used from 0 - 2mm, white filament from 2.2 - 2.6mm, blue from 2.8 - 3.4mm and Red from 3.4mm to 4.0mm.

You can see the ‘layer cake’ effect on the edges of the ‘red’ element within the design but from a distance or when looking directly at the design this is hidden from view.

This test piece is 11cm x 11cm and took approximately 3hrs 20m, including filament changes.
